Orphaned by war and hardened by loss, Nils Olav grew up in the ruins of a broken orphanage, vowing revenge against the Alimrothi who destroyed his home. As a man he led the resistance in Steadfort, holding the line until their strength was spent and the city fell. Barely escaping the slaughter, he now journeys west in search of the gods said to walk among mortals, hoping their aid might bring his people a chance to reclaim the Heartlands.
