Native to the mountains of Sudd Tohst and Dornat Al Karit, the Ashqarid—known to many as the Sand Strider is one of Tharador’s most feared predators. Though it nests high in the peaks, it hunts in the dunes below, lying in wait beneath the sands for weeks at a time. Able to move unseen at blistering speeds beneath the surface, it strikes without warning, dragging prey into the depths before they can scream. Few who catch its attention live to tell the tale.
